Parkinson's NSW Incorporated is a non-profit, community-based organisation established in 1979 to provide information, counselling and support to people living with Parkinson's disease. Our resources such as Infoline and our network of support groups throughout NSW have helped many individuals and their families better manage living with Parkinson's disease.

We also have an advocacy role on behalf of the Parkinson's disease community and strive to increase community awareness about the disease through educational sessions and promotional events.

At a national level, affiliation with Parkinson's Australia provides strong links with other state Parkinson's organisations. We also maintain contact with other Parkinson's organisations around the world.

Parkinson's NSW seeks to make a positive contribution to the provision of treatment and professional support services for people with Parkinson's disease. We provide in-service training and education to health professionals,

We encourage research into Parkinson's disease and cooperate with those undertaking it. To this end we offer seed grants to researchers on a regular basis. Parkinson's NSW supports stem cell research and is a member of The Coalition for the Advancement of Medical Research Australia. (See Parkinson's NSW policy)

CAMRA endorses and encourages research with both embryonic and adult stem cells into the cause, treatment and prevention of diabetes, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injury, motor neurone disease and many other neurodegenerative and neuromuscular disorders
