Parkinson’s NSW has received a $20,000 grant under the Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program of the Australian Government.
The Government has awarded approximately $9 million to community groups and businesses across the country to help them transition to the NDIS.
Parkinson’s NSW is based in North Ryde, in the electorate of Bennelong.
Federal Member for Bennelong Mr John Alexander MP said: “This funding helps local organisations in their early stages of transition and will go a long way to ensuring they have the tools and capabilities needed to deliver support to NDIS participants”.
The funding can be used for tailored business advice, software upgrades and other one-on-one support.
CEO Jo-Anne Reeves said: “We are committed to assisting people who are engaged within the NDIS system; this funding will go a long way towards the delivery of that. We’re delighted to have been supported, so we in turn can support people living with Parkinson’s and their carers.”
Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Stuart Robert, said the Australian Government is committed to building a sustainable NDIS provider market.
‘It is vital we support a strong, sustainable and well-skilled provider market across Australia to deliver the services that NDIS participants need now and into the future,’ Minister Robert said.
