Yes. This is one of the reasons why Parkinson’s NSW now requires an Annual Plan from all of its Support Groups.
If you have a local Parkinsons-related project you want to pay for from local fundraising, it must be included in your Annual Plan – including a full description of the intended project, its purpose and benefits, and quoted costs.
Your Group is not independent. It is a part of Parkinson’s NSW.
So when you fundraise in the name of Parkinson’s NSW, we are extending our NSW Fundraising Authority to you.
This means that your fundraising activity must meet the same legal and regulatory requirements as Parkinson’s NSW. These requirements include fundraising laws, taxation laws and privacy regulations.
Hence the need to include local fundraising projects in your Annual Plan, along with other costs associated with operating the Support Group – including venue hire, food and beverages, transport for outings, etc.
