Margaret Howard is one of our team members staffing the Parkinson’s NSW InfoLine (a free call to 1800 644 189).
She graduated from The University of Sydney in 1988 with a Bachelor of Pharmacy and had 20 years of experience working in community pharmacies before taking a break to raise a family.
When she returned to the workplace, it was as an Infoline Officer at Asthma Australia.
“This experience provided me with valuable insights into supporting individuals living with chronic conditions,” said Margaret.
“I have also participated in a research study, the Pilot Support Program, which incorporated SMART goal setting as a method of self-managing chronic conditions to improve health outcomes. This was conducted in collaboration with the Asthma Foundation NSW, Atlantis Healthcare and The University of Sydney.”
“I find it very rewarding to support individuals to manage their health conditions and enhance their quality of life,” she said.
Margaret also cares for her older brother who lives with Parkinson’s, so she has a personal understanding of the challenges faced.
Outside of work, Margaret enjoys maintaining her fitness by working out at a gym and loves to travel. She also holds a black belt in Taekwondo.
